TESTIMONY
I am Dr. Marshall Angotti, a retired York County, PA dentist, and a sinner saved by God’s grace.
In the Spring of 2022, my best friend was killed in a highway accident. A memorial service was scheduled six months
later in our hometown, and I asked if I could speak. Permission was granted and I was prepared to deliver the eulogy in
church but was asked to do so at the diner following the memorial service.
This would be in a private room of a public restaurant where about 35 people showed up. A party atmosphere quickly
developed including drinks, jokes, and boisterous conversations. We had one waitress for the room, a young woman in
her mid-20s with multiple tattoos and piercings, overwhelmed but doing her best. This was not the environment I was
expecting to present the Gospel. What little control of the situation I had, disappeared. I had to focus on being
obedient to my task of presenting the Gospel to all these unsaved people.
I knew almost everyone in the room; grew up with them through my college years but had not seen many of them for
almost 40 years. An odd situation for me but a perfect one for the Holy Spirit. Because He orchestrated this entire
event down to the last detail as I would soon learn. Halfway through the diner, I stood up beside my table, got everyone’s attention
and started to deliver the eulogy which is now the “Letter of Witness”.
I was getting ready to read the Scripture of Romans 10:9-10, when the waitress walked into the room and said, “Oh I
am sorry for interrupting.” One of the men attending, who I noticed had been mocking me as I was speaking, replied to
the young waitress, “Don’t be sorry, you are not interrupting anything”. She immediately answered, “But I am. And I
want to hear everything this man is saying”. As she pointed directly at me. You could hear a pin drop. She must have
been standing outside of the private dining room listening to every word of the Gospel. Many people asked questions
after I was finished. The Holy Spirit was convicting hearts. Before leaving I was able to ask the waitress what grabbed
her attention during the eulogy, and she said, “What you were reading from the Bible is so powerful. Where do I go in
the Bible so I can read everything again before I go to bed tonight?”
My wife and I have a few grandchildren whom we are forbidden to speak the Name of Jesus. We have been praying for
them for the last 8 years. Three weeks after the memorial service, the Holy Spirit woke me one night and spoke to my
heart, “You now have a way to speak to your grandchildren about the Gospel. Change the eulogy into a “Letter of
Witness”. After more leading and guiding by the Holy Spirit, the Lord’s Ministry, WitnessForever.Org, was established.
Blessings,
